Safeguarding Policy

The Allegro Music Academy work with children and adults as part of its activity in teaching music to all. This takes the form of individual and/or group music lessons across all instruments and across 7 days a week, 9am to 9pm. We teach all ages from 3 or 4 to 90 year olds.

Measures for Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

  • Teachers work under the umbrella of the Allegro Music Academy and share common values to provide the best quality of teaching in a safe and enjoyable manor.
  • Teachers are only appointed after we have established DBS checks that prove satisfactory.
  • All teachers and staff are briefed regarding our data protection policies.
  • Any communications, when an under 16 year old is involved, is done via the parent/guardian.
  • Any communication numbers/addresses are available under the Allegro Diary system and are only ever added to a teachers personal address book if permission is granted from the parent/carer.
  • All teaching rooms have glass windows in the door so lessons are visible from the outside.
  • It is recommended parents of children be in the vicinity of the room where online lessons are being taken.
  • Parents are welcome to sit in a lesson with a student, if preferred.
  • Open communication between parent/carer and the academy is encouraged to make sure the student is with the right teacher.
  • Each teacher is self employed and is solely responsible for each pupil under their care and for the conduct and development of lessons.
  • It is the responsibility of each teacher to have Personal and Public Liability insurance, the Allegro Music Academy check this regularly.
